Guns don't discriminate and shooting is an equal opportunity endeavor. So without question, shooting women command a sizable facet of shooting culture. There are, of course, inherent differences in the average size and form of the male and female shooter. It's true that in general, women are built smaller than their male counterparts, for whom most firearms are typically designed.

There are a various scenarios to suit different combinations of women and guns. Limiting the scope of girls guns to small, low powered pistols and youth rifles isn't always accurate. Women use guns for all the same reasons anyone else would: self-defense, hunting, sport shooting and recreation. Many of these scenarios are suitable for smaller, lighter “girl's guns,” and for some added flair, a pink firearm can be quite fashionable. But the hunting woman is still going to require more firepower to ensure an effective kill and a self-defense weapon should not have to sacrifice power for comfort. Nevertheless, size and form are traits that still must be considered for female guns. Some manufacturers understand this and have designed full powered firearms with smaller grips and extra padded stocks to absorb recoil such as Browning's Ladies Gold Sporting 12 gauge for the woman hunter. Other manufacturers offer compact pistols of .38, 9mm, or 40. calibers with handles and barrels small enough to comfortably fit a female shooter's hand and wardrobe. After all, a woman's gun isn't too effective if she can't get a grip on it. This is why many female gun activist groups recommend brands such as Taurus, Bersa, Hi-Point and Kahr, to name a few, for concealed carry pistols that have the power to drop an assailant in his tracks which is paramount to successful self-defense. No matter where you are in the spectrum of shooting women from the safety-conscious, to the novice target shooter, to the veteran hunter, we are the females perfect source for rifles, shotguns, and handguns, ammo and accessories.
